A centuries-old Catholic church in Collingwood partially ruined in a 2007 fire will be demolished as part of redevelopment plans for the site.

The St Joseph's church suffered major damage in April 2007 because of a blaze reportedly caused by an electrical fault. Less than half of the original structure remains, which was completed in 1862.
